It’s Christmas Eve in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, outside Santa Fe, Hillary wants to leave her store, get out in the storm, ski the new snow. A mysterious young man buys a coyote coat, and reveals he is the son she gave up for adoption. Max follows Hillary up the mountain into the storm to ski. Hillary gets trapped in a tree well during an avalanche. Time shifts, space fractures as Cha Cha Rembrandt, Spirit of Coyote, takes charge during Hillary’s entrapment. As trickster and angel Cha Cha guides Hillary through her recent encounters with Max and into her past for encounters with her younger self. The play explores the themes of loss, love and forgiveness.
